Privacy Policy
Last updated: January 27, 2026
Nozzles Energy Limited ("Nozzles Energy", "we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, and share your personal information when you use our Services (including our websites, mobile applications, and any related services). It also explains your rights regarding your personal data. By using our Services, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
This Privacy Policy is drafted in compliance with the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation 2019 and the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023, along with all other relevant Nigerian privacy laws and regulations. We are dedicated to handling your personal data lawfully, fairly, and transparently.
1. Information We Collect
We collect several types of information from or about our users (including customers, business clients, and drivers):
- Personal Information Provided by You: When you register or place an order, we collect information such as your name, email address, phone number, contact address, and account login details (username, password). If you are a business or estate client, we may also collect business name, contact person's details, and possibly tax or registration information for invoicing. For drivers or employees, we collect information like name, contact, driver's license or ID details, and any certifications relevant to their role.
- Order and Transaction Information: When you use our Service to order fuel, we collect details of your orders (fuel type, quantity, delivery address, dates and times of orders, etc.). We maintain records of your purchase history and payments. Payment details (such as credit/debit card information) are processed by our third-party payment processor (Paystack); we may store a payment transaction ID or confirmation but we do not store your full card number or CVV on our systems for security.
- Location Data: Our mobile app may collect location data from your device if you grant permission. This can include precise geolocation to facilitate finding your delivery location or to enable real-time tracking features. You can disable or adjust location permissions in your device settings, though certain Services (like live tracking) may not function if location access is off.
- Equipment and Usage Data: If you use any of our fuel monitoring services (e.g., IoT sensors on fuel tanks or generators provided by Nozzles Energy), we may collect data from those devices/sensors, including fuel level, consumption rate, generator operating status, or other technical metrics. We also collect technical information about your use of our apps to improve our services.
- Device and Log Information: We automatically collect certain technical information when you access our app or website, including device type, operating system, browser type, IP address, device identifiers, app version, usage information, and diagnostic data. Our website may use cookies or similar technologies as described below.
- Information from Third Parties: We generally collect personal data directly from you. We might receive information from third parties in certain situations (e.g., if you are a business client, your employer might provide your details; we receive limited information from Paystack to record your transactions). We treat any such information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.
2. How We Use Your Information
We process your personal information for the following purposes:
- To Provide and Improve Services: We use the collected information to operate and deliver our Services – to process fuel orders, arrange and dispatch deliveries, and monitor fuel levels if you use our monitoring devices. We use personal and location data to guide our drivers and complete the service. We may use data about how you use the app to improve functionality and user experience.
- To Communicate with You: We use your contact information to send confirmations and updates about orders or deliveries, and we may communicate about new features, promotions, or news (you can opt out of marketing). For drivers and employees, we use provided contacts for work schedules, dispatch instructions, and company updates.
- For Safety and Security: We use personal and equipment data to ensure deliveries are done safely, verify identities, and monitor our platform for fraudulent or suspicious activity.
- To Offer Customer Support: We use your information to address help requests, resolve delivery disputes, correct errors, and debug technical issues.
- Analytics and Product Development: We may analyze aggregated usage data and customer feedback to understand trends, develop new features, and optimize delivery routes or times.
- Legal and Compliance: We process personal information when necessary to comply with legal obligations (e.g., financial reporting, tax requirements, regulatory requests, law enforcement). We may use data to enforce our Terms of Use or defend our legal rights.
We will only process your information when we have a valid legal basis (your consent, fulfilling a contract, compliance with law, or our legitimate interests where not overridden by your rights).
3. How We Share Your Information
Nozzles Energy does not sell your personal data to third parties. We share information in certain circumstances:
- With Delivery Personnel: We share necessary order details and customer information with our delivery drivers so they can fulfill your order (e.g., name, address, contact phone, order details). This is strictly for completing the delivery.
- With Service Providers: We use third-party companies for payment processing (Paystack), mapping and location services, cloud hosting, SMS/email delivery, analytics, and customer support. These providers only receive the information necessary to perform their functions and are required to protect your information.
- Within the Company and Affiliates: If we have parent companies, subsidiaries, or affiliated entities, we may share personal data among our group as needed to fulfill services, under strict privacy obligations.
- For Legal Reasons: We may disclose your information if required by law or in response to valid requests by public authorities, or to enforce our Terms, address fraud, or protect rights, property, or safety.
- Business Transfers: If Nozzles Energy is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred to a successor entity. We will ensure confidentiality and notify users of any change in data ownership.
- With Your Consent: Where you have given explicit consent to share your information, we will do so as instructed.
We limit the personal information we share to what is truly needed and strive to anonymize or aggregate data when sharing for business analysis.
4. Data Storage and Security
Data Storage Location: Your data is stored on secure servers. Our primary operations are in Nigeria, but we may use cloud providers that store data in data centers outside Nigeria. If your data is transferred outside Nigeria, we will take steps to ensure adequate protection in compliance with Nigerian data protection laws (e.g., contractual safeguards or standard contractual clauses).
Security Measures: We employ technical and organizational security measures including encryption of sensitive data, secure transmission (HTTPS/SSL), firewalls, and regular security audits. We limit internal access to personal data and require confidentiality obligations. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security. We will promptly notify you and relevant authorities of any data breach as required by law and maintain incident response plans.
5. Data Retention
We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes in this Policy and to comply with applicable laws:
- Account Information: We keep your account data as long as you maintain an account. If you delete your account or it is inactive for an extended period, we may archive or delete the information after a reasonable time, unless needed for legal reasons.
- Orders and Transaction Data: We retain records of orders, payments, and deliveries to comply with financial and tax obligations, typically for at least several years as required by law. We may retain order records in business records even after account deletion but will disassociate them where possible.
- Location and Device Data: Generally retained for a shorter period (e.g., a few months) unless needed longer for analysis or security. We aggregate or anonymize usage data for long-term analytics.
- Drivers and Employees: Personal data is kept for the duration of employment/contract and for an appropriate time afterward (e.g., for employment laws or legal claims).
- Backup and Archive: Residual copies may remain in backup systems for some time after deletion but are protected and eventually overwritten per our backup retention schedule.
When we have no ongoing legitimate need or legal requirement to retain your data, we will securely dispose of it or anonymize it.
6. Your Rights and Choices
Under the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 and applicable laws, you have rights regarding your personal data:
- Access and Portability: You may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you and obtain it in a commonly used electronic format.
- Correction (Rectification): You can request that we correct or update incorrect or incomplete personal data (e.g., via your account profile or by contacting us).
- Deletion (Right to be Forgotten): You may ask us to delete or remove personal data if it is no longer necessary for us to retain it. We will honor requests where we do not have a legal obligation or overriding legitimate interest. Deleting certain data may affect your ability to use the Services.
- Withdrawal of Consent: Where processing is based on consent (e.g., marketing emails or location data), you may withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal. Certain features may no longer work if you withdraw consent.
- Objection to Processing: You can object to certain processing (e.g., direct marketing or processing based on legitimate interests). You can opt out of marketing via unsubscribe instructions in messages. For other objections, we will evaluate and stop or limit processing unless we have compelling grounds or a legal requirement.
- Data Portability: Where applicable, you can request to receive some of your data in a machine-readable format or ask us to transfer it to another entity where technically feasible.
- Automated Decision-Making: We do not typically make decisions with legal or significant effects solely by automated means. If we do, you have the right to request human review.
- Complaint: You may lodge a complaint with the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC) or other relevant supervisory authority. We encourage you to contact us first so we can try to resolve your concerns.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details at the end of this Policy. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling certain requests. We will respond within a reasonable timeframe in accordance with applicable law.
7. Children's Privacy
We do not knowingly collect or solicit personal information from anyone under 13. The Services are not directed at children under 13, and those under 13 are not allowed to register or use the Services. If you are between 13 and 18, you should only use the Services with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian, who should agree to this Privacy Policy and the Terms on your behalf. If we learn that we have inadvertently collected personal data from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete it as soon as possible. If you believe a minor under 13 may have provided us personal data, please contact us.
8. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technologies, legal requirements, or other factors. When we make significant changes, we will notify you by email (to the address associated with your account) or by prominently posting a notice on our app or website. The "Last Updated" date at the top indicates when the latest changes were made. Your continued use of the Services after any update constitutes your acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
